If you are ....
- a former aero modeler who is starting again after a lifestyle break
- an experienced builder and pilot, looking for a new club
- in need of advice about getting started in the hobby
... then come and meet us
We operate one flying field at present, hold weekly meetings, organise indoor flying events, take off on slope soaring and other expeditions, and organise presentations by noted speakers.
Prospective novice members may, by arrangement, enjoy up to three familiarisation flights (on three separate days) with one of our Instructors using a club aircraft & dual control. This free service will allow you to find out if the hobby is for you without spending out on equipment.
Ownership of a flying model is not essential at first: the Club owns and operates several training aircraft that can be used for your first few flights, using the "buddybox" system, but it is expected that you will soon have built or purchased your own model. The club has 8 Instructors & 4 Examiners to get you solo & on to the BMFA "A" & "B"certs.
Membership is open to anyone (young or not so young) who are fascinated by model aircraft, of whatever type. However, we are a Private Members Club, and applications for membership are reviewed by our committee.
If you are interested in more information about the Club then please Email our Membership Secretary (email@example.com ) who will be happy to help with your enquiry.
Please note that preference will be given to applicants who currently do not have access to a flying club/site.
The Club is not open to the general public.
